Install Mumble on your computer or phone and join your server with the address from your customer area.

You need the address and the port of your server. Both are on the Mumble card on the Overview tab of your server in your customer area, also as a mumble:// link with a Copy button. Share the address (and the server password, if you set one) with your friends.

Windows, macOS and Linux

  1. Download Mumble from the official website mumble.info (on Linux also from your distribution's packages) and install it.
  2. On the first start, the audio wizard helps you choose your microphone and between push-to-talk and voice activation.
  3. The certificate wizard creates a certificate: it identifies you on the server instead of a password. Keep the backup it offers you.
  4. Choose Server → Connect → Add New…, enter the address, the port and your user name, and click OK.
  5. Select the server and click Connect. If the server has a password, Mumble asks for it.

Faster: click the mumble:// link on the Mumble card. Mumble opens with the address and port filled in and only asks for your user name.

Android

  1. Install Mumla, the open-source Mumble app for Android (F-Droid, also on Google Play).
  2. Tap + to add a server and enter the address, the port and your user name.
  3. Tap the server to connect. Mumla offers push-to-talk or voice activation in its settings.

iPhone and iPad

  1. Install the free Mumble app from the App Store.
  2. Choose Favourite Servers, tap + and enter the address, the port and your user name.
  3. Tap the server to connect and allow access to the microphone.

It does not connect?

  • The server must show Running in your customer area.
  • Check the port: on a shared address it is usually not 64738 (Mumble's default), so always enter the port shown in your customer area.
  • "Wrong certificate or password": the user name is registered by someone else, or the server password is wrong.
  • "Server is full": raise Max users in Game settings (up to your plan's limit).
  • Still stuck? Open a support ticket and tell us the time of the attempt.
