Ordering a game server: plans, build your own and prices
Fixed plans or a server built to measure, dedicated IP, billing periods, CHF or EUR and paying with prepaid balance.
Every game server comes with backups, a web console, file manager and SFTP, schedules and crash help. You only choose how much power it gets and how long you pay in advance.
Fixed plans or build your own
- Fixed plans have a set amount of RAM, CPU and disk at one price. The order form recommends the plan that fits the game you chose.
- Build your own: choose RAM (per GB), CPU (per core), disk (per GB) and backup slots with sliders. You pay exactly for what you pick.
- Every game has a minimum (for example more RAM for modpacks). The order form never lets you go below it.
Starting from a plan on our website, you choose the game in the order form. Starting from a game page, the game is already selected and you choose the plan.
Dedicated IP address
By default your server shares an IP address with other servers and gets its own ports and its own address name. A dedicated IP gives the server its own IPv4 address with the game’s standard ports, for a small monthly fee. A few games need one; the order form adds it automatically then.

Currency: CHF or EUR
- Our website shows prices in CHF in Switzerland and Liechtenstein and in EUR elsewhere; you can switch at any time.
- In the order form, a new customer can pick CHF or EUR, wherever they live.
- An organization has a single currency: once it has ordered, every later order and renewal uses that currency.
Paying with prepaid balance
Top up your organization’s balance once and choose "Prepaid balance" at checkout: the order is paid instantly and the server is created right away. Renewals can be paid from the balance too, and orders through the API always use it.
Prices in the order form are always calculated by our system at checkout; the estimate on our website uses the same unit prices. ThunderHosting is not subject to VAT under Swiss law, so no VAT is added.
