Play with Minecraft Bedrock: phone, Windows and consoles
Turn on crossplay for a Java server in one click, or join a Bedrock server, from any device.
Minecraft Bedrock Edition runs on phones, tablets, Windows, Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. There are two ways to play with Bedrock friends:
- A Bedrock server: only Bedrock players can join.
- A Java server (Paper or Spigot) with crossplay: Java and Bedrock players play together.
Turn on crossplay (Paper or Spigot)
- Open your server in Dash and go to the Plugins tab.
- In the Crossplay card, click Enable crossplay.
- Dash installs Geyser and Floodgate and restarts the server.

Bedrock players use the same address and the same port as Java players. They do not need a Java account: Floodgate lets them in with their Microsoft account. Their names start with a dot (for example .Steve), so they never clash with Java names.
Bedrock always runs the newest version. If your server runs an older Minecraft version, keep the ViaVersion option on so Bedrock players can still join.
Add the server on a phone, tablet or Windows
- Start Minecraft, tap Play and open the Servers tab.
- Scroll down and tap Add Server.
- Server Name: any name. Server Address: the address from Dash. Port: the port shown in Dash (Crossplay card or Overview → Connect).
- Tap Save, then tap the server to join.

Xbox, PlayStation and Switch
Consoles only list the featured servers and cannot add other servers directly. Two common workarounds:
- LAN broadcast: an app such as BedrockTogether on a phone in the same Wi-Fi announces your server as a LAN game. Start it with your address and port; the console then shows the server under Friends → LAN Games.
- DNS method: set the console's DNS server to a public BedrockConnect server and open a featured server. A server list appears where you can enter your address and port.
These workarounds are community tools that we do not operate. Use them at your own discretion.
Bedrock server
On a Bedrock server, add the server the same way: address and port from the Connect card on the Overview tab.
